SUBMISSIONS

Timeline

The full paper submission is now closed. The submission system is still kept open for those authors who received organisers' approval for a late submission. The peer-review process has started, results expected by mid-September.

We will open for aditional submissions during spring 2021.

All presenters must register (and pay the fee) as the conference participants.

Submission types

During abstract submission stage, the authors chose one of the options:

Scientific paper. A paper is expected to have a clear research question and use scientific methods to answer it. Scientific papers will go through the peer-review process done by the ICSC Scientific Committee. A selection of papers will be recommended for submission to a special issue of 'Accident Analysis & Prevention' journal.

Short technical paper. A technical paper is expected to describe practical results from projects or initiatives related to the conference topics. The length of a short paper is limited to 6 pages. The technical papers will be reviewed, too.

Submission process

ICSC uses EasyChair platform to manage the submissions. To uploaded the full version of your paper, log into the system with the same credentials you used before. Choose 'author' among the available roles and go to your already created submission.

Update paper details (abstract, keywords, etc.) if necessary by clicking 'Update information' in the right top corner menu. To upload the full paper, choose 'Add file'.

Presentation formats

Three presentation formats are offered during the conference:

1. Full oral presentation.  The presenter gets the stage for 13-14 minutes which should also leave space for a couple of questions.

2. Short oral presentation. The presenter gets the stage for 6-7 minutes, no questions.

At the end of all oral sessions the authors will be asked to stay longer to allow interested people in the audience ask further questions in face-to-face settings.

3. Poster presentation. Authors are asked to prepare a poster which will be displayed during the entire conference. The authors must be present at their poster during specially devoted poster session time (ca 50 minutes) to be able to discuss their results with the audience. Each poster authors will also have an opportunity to make a poster pitch talk (ca 2 minutes) during an oral session with the relevant topic.

The decision on the presentation format for each submission was made by the Organising Committee (Steering Committee + Conference Hosts) based on the submission scores set by the reviewers, its novelty and anticipated interest for the conference attendees and, finally, based on the number of available time slots.

For oral presentors, the submission of a full paper is required (this goes for both scientific and short technical papers). For poster presentations, submission of a full paper is recommended, but not required.

Full scientific papers will be considered for recommendation to the journal special issue regardless to whether they were presented orally or as a poster.
